  1. That is so true! When our oldest daughter was about 8 months old, we "ferberized" her. We quit going in her room after we had put her to bed as it had become a habit and a game. We called the next door neighbors since we lived in a townhouse and prepared them for what we had expected. She cried for 2.5 hours the first night, 30 minutes the second and none after that. A few months later, the neighbor called to tell us they were following our plan, don't worry when you hear the kids screaming his lungs out. STAY STRONG and drink a beer.
